It was an interesting programme, worth watching - although, despite the title, probably only about a quarter was focused on Tassie devils and the facial tumour disease that's threatening them. In fact, nearly half focused on the thylacine - there was quite a lot of old footage and clearly still a few 'believers' out there. I expect it will be on ITV Player shortly.

If non-Brits can view ITV player, let me know and I'll happily return this thread to the board it came from (and delete this post).

Thanks for flagging this one up Fossa. I really enjoyed it. Not enough disease stuff but the devils were neat. I remember one which we had at Toronto Zoo which really shocked me how placid it was. I was expecting the whirling dervish Tassy devil from the Bug's Bunny cartoons and instead got a timid quiet creature.

I thought it was a good programme - the title was a bit misleading as devils were only a small part, but the thylacine stuff was a bonus. I've seen devils in a couple of zoos in Australia (where I first found out about facial tumour disease). As I recall, they were huddled up together, snoozing in the shade - they looked very cute and not at all feisty. I've not encountered them outside Australia - I didn't know they were kept elsewhere.
